
A manhunt for the abductors of an official of the Defence Headquarters, Lieutenant Cynthia Akor and two other residents of the Federal Capital Territory has begun.
It was gathered that security agencies in the FCT have launched a search and rescue operation for the missing trio.
Punch reports that Akor, a naval officer was kidnapped from her residence in the Mpape area of Abuja alongside two others on the night of Friday, March 21.
A security operative who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the abductors are already demanding N100 million for the release of the victims.
The source said, “About three people were kidnapped on Friday night in the Mpape area. A DHQ official, Akor, was among them. The kidnappers have already reached out to their families and are demanding N100m ransom.
“The operation to rescue her and others has started and is ongoing. Police and soldiers are already on it,” the source noted.
However, Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command said she was yet to confirm the incident.
“I will confirm and get back to you shortly,” she stated.
