A Kano Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced one Sahalu Musa to one month imprisonment for stealing 25 litres of diesel.
The defendant, who lives at Kabuga Quarters, Kano, admitted committing the offence and was convicted.
He was charged with theft that contravened the provisions of Section 288 of the Penal Code.
The Magistrate, Musa Ibrahim, who convicted Musa, however, gave him N10,000 option of fine.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Umar Tahir, had told the court that the convict committed the offence on May 18, at Tudun Yola Quarters, Kano.
Tahir said that one Emanuel Luka and a team attached to Iron Quard Integrated Service Limited, arrested the convict, a security guard of the company for being in possession of the diesel.
