The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Bala Mohammed Bello as the Part-Time Chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), along with five Non-Executive Directors: Yusuf Tegina (North Central), Adeyemo Adeoye (South West), Charles Odion Iyiore (South South), Yahaya Ibrahim (North West), and Emily Chidinma Osuji (South East).
The newly appointed AMCON chairman currently serves as the Deputy Governor of Corporate Services at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), a position he has held since his appointment by President Bola Tinubu in September 2023.
The confirmation of Dr. Bello and the other board members aligns with President Tinubu’s request to the Senate, as outlined in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The nominations were made in accordance with Section 10, Subsection 1 of the AMCON Establishment Act, 2019 (as amended).
