Tinubu not ready for 2023 election, governance – Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye, the Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Management Committee, on Friday said Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election “appears not to be ready”.

In a statement obtained by POLITICS NIGERIA, Melaye said unlike his principal and presidential flag-bearer of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, who has the capacity and is ready to lead Nigeria, Tinubu has been embroiled in controversy.

“The Candidate of the APC appears not to be ready. You will recall that he was not available at the signing of the Peace Accord by political parties.

“He has also been rolling from one controversy to another. When it is not about his origin, it is about his age. When it is not about his academic qualification it is about his physical or physiological qualification. Something has to be invented every time to fill a gap.

“The latest invention was a recourse to an old fitness video to certify the health of a contender for the Presidency of Nigeria, who is on a trip to an undisclosed location for an undisclosed reason and for an undisclosed period.

“The Presidency of Nigeria is neither a cycling competition nor a track event.

“Indeed, if it’s an athletic programme then Tobi Amusan ‘lo kan’,” Melaye’s statement reads in part.

  1. In the next couplee of months it’s going to be politics all the way. With each candidate backed by their supporters arresting the minds of electorates for votes.
Policy intentions will be rolled out across every media house and journals, however, it is the intention and ability that should matter more to the people. And not rhetorics, fancy words, show of financial power, colourful dressed supporters which are all icing on the cake.
The million dollar question is; Can these candidates drum us out of our current economic woes? Can these candidates reawaken the past glory of our land. Can we beat our chest and say with certainty these individuals blocking our roads and calling for our support the men and women of honour, who are ready to sacrifice all for a better Nigeria.
We can not wait to ask such salient question at the end of the political match when the umpire has blow the last whistle. The time is now, before you support or cast your voter.
