The Senator representing Osun Central at the National Assembly, Ajibola Bashiru, has distributed 5,000 face masks to the constituents in his Senatorial District.
Mr Bashiru is the spokesperson of the Senate and former Attorney General of Osun State.
POLITICS NIGERIA understands that the distribution begins on Monday morning at his Constituency Office, Ayetoro, Osogbo to each liaison Office.
It was also learned that Mr Basiru had sponsored programs on various radio stations in the State to alert people to the dangers posed by being exposed to the infection.
He earlier distributed hundreds of bags of rice and beans to people to ease the economic effects of the lockdown on people.
“Since the virus is still around coupled with the fact the lockdown has been relaxed, I ordered for provision of 5000 pieces of nose masks to help people keep safe as they go about their businesses Monday to Thursday”, he said.
