Senate will work with FG to end Plateau attacks – Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has pledged that the Senate will collaborate with appropriate security and government bodies to bring an end to the ongoing killings in Plateau State.

He made this commitment on Friday at the funeral service of Janet Plang, wife of Senator Diket Plang, who chairs the Senate Committee on Labour and Productivity.

The ceremony took place at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) headquarters in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

During the event, the state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, also used the opportunity to make an appeal.

“As the president of the 10th Senate, I hear you loud and clear, and be rest assured that your travails will be given the needed attention and response from the relevant agencies,” Akpabio said in response.

“And the Egyptians you see today, you shall see them no more.”

He expressed condolences to the people and government of Plateau, assuring them that President Bola Tinubu would be briefed and decisive action would be taken.

“Let me, on behalf of my distinguished colleagues, condole with your government and the people of Plateau state on this needless and unwarranted loss of lives,” he said.

“I assure you that your message would be delivered to President Bola Tinubu, and something would be done very urgently to protect the lives and property of the people living in this state,” he said.
