“Send All Gifts Meant for me to Children With Disabilities” – Obaseki Says on His Birthday

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has made a plea to those intending to shower him with gifts on his 66th birthday.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the governor has requested that instead of presenting him with tokens of appreciation, the gifts be directed towards children with disabilities.

Governor Obaseki, whose birthday falls on July 1, has specifically designated the Roseluyi Exceptional Students Academy as the beneficiary of all donations and gifts. This institution is dedicated to catering to the educational needs of children with special requirements within the state.

In a statement by Crusoe Osagie, the governor’s media special adviser, Obaseki emphasised his commitment to assisting those who face hardships in society.

“With a heart for every children’s development, governor Obaseki wishes to contribute to the success of the Roseluyi Exceptional Students Academy which has demonstrated excellent capacity in the development of children with special needs,” Osagie said in a statement.

“The governor thanks all Nigerians, particularly the good people of Edo state, for their kind wishes and urges all to participate in this unique celebration to honour the children with special needs in the state,” the statement further read.
