“Serving under Buhari was my greatest honour” – Kemi Adeosun

Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has described her time serving under the late President Muhammadu Buhari as the greatest honour of her career.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Adeosun paid tribute to Buhari, expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside him.

She recalled the fond relationship she shared with the former president, who affectionately referred to her as “Maikudi,” a Hausa word meaning “the one that handles money.”

“Working alongside him was not only a professional privilege but also a personal pleasure,” she said.

Adeosun praised Buhari’s leadership and the personal impact he had on her life, saying his guidance and support left a lasting impression.

Her tribute ended with an emotional farewell: “Good night, Your Excellency. Rest in Peace, Sir.”

The former minister joins a growing list of Nigerians paying tribute to Buhari, who died on Sunday, July 13, in a London hospital.
