Several fighters killed as NAF airstrikes hit terrorists’ stronghold

Several fighters have been killed in recent airstrikes by troops of the Nigerian Air Force in Chiralia, Grazah, Yuwe, and Zango Hill.

The Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF, Group Captain Kabiru Ali said the terrorists were killed in relentless air operations conducted by officials between March 17 and 19, 2025.

In a statement issued on Friday, Ali said NAF launched attacks in the terrorists’ hideouts on Chiralia – a notorious terrorist enclave within the Timbuktu Triangle – where the fighters have been involved in violent raids of highways.

In another operation in Grazah, a well-fortified terrorist hideout in the treacherous Mandara Mountains, and at Yuwe, the NAF spokesperson said extremist leaders indoctrinating fighters were eliminated by the air troops.

Ali said, “Follow-up strikes intensified the offensive, obliterating fleeing terrorists at both locations and delivering a crushing blow to their operational networks.

“In the North-West region, the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) executed a relentless aerial assault in Zango Hill, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, in close coordination with ground forces,” he said.

Reiterating on the Force commitment of securing the country, Ali added that the recent operations by NAF have successfully disrupted activities of terrorists in these areas

He said, “The NAF remains committed to sustaining the momentum of air operations in close coordination with ground forces to ensure the restoration of peace and security in affected areas.”
