A former Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Deji Adeyanju, on Wednesday criticised Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde over what he calls “tyranny”.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that the lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District at the Senate, Senator Kola Balogun, on Tuesday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Balogun, who is the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Lekan Balogun’s younger brother, was the only senator elected to the Upper Legislative on the platform of the ruling PDP in Oyo State in 2019.
The senator resigned from the PDP after Governor Makinde allegedly handed over the PDP ticker for Oyo South Senatorial District to Joseph Tegbe, who defected to the PDP from the APC.
Senator Balogun‘s defection meant that all three senators from Oyo state are now with the APC.
There are also rumours that the Oyo State deputy governor, Rauf Olaniyan, will soon leave the PDP for the APC.
Reacting to the development, Adeyanju wrote on his known Twitter handle: “Seyi Makinde, the propagandist has driven almost all strong PDP stalwarts in the state to APC with his tyranny. These were people that worked so hard to bring him to power in 2019. I must, however, note that he reduced propaganda ever since I exposed him.”
