Renowned Economist and former presidential candidate, Pat Utomi has reacted to the legal action taken against him by the Department of State Services (DSS) over his recent formation of a shadow government.
In a post made on X, Utomi lamented the continuous attempt to trample on the fundamental human rights of Nigerians by those in authority.
Describing such an act as treacherous and cowardly, Utomi said every Nigerian from the six geopolitical zones must rise against intimidation by leaders.
He also appreciated Nigerians and other lovers of the country who, through messages, calls and words of encouragement have stood in solidarity with him following the move by the DSS over the proposed formation of a shadow government.
He wrote, “I am heartened by messages of solidarity from across Nigeria on this shadowy business of chasing shadows of shadow cabinets. Reminds me of the Nigeria I used to know.
“I want to thank all. It’s energizing some want to put together 500 lawyers to defend me against the DSS,” Utomi added.
Recall that the DSS had filed a suit against Utomi at the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations of attempting to disrupt the executive powers under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
The secret police suit comes after the former presidential candidate unveiled a 39-man shadow government.
Utomi had said that the establishment of the shadow government became necessary following the poor handling of Nigeria’s economy and the governance system adopted by President Tinubu.
