A Kano State Sharia court in Kwana Hudu has remanded one Muntari Garba Riminkebe for allegedly beating his mother and threatening to kill her.
Daily Trust reports that Muntari Garba, a resident of Riminkebe quarters area of Nasarawa Local Government Area, was arraigned before the court by the Kano State Police Command on two counts of using force and threatening to kill.
The police said the offences contravened Sections 165 and 227 of the sharia court.
He was earlier reported to the police by his mother, who said the son had been beating and attempting to kill her.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The judge, Malam Nura Yusuf Ahmad, ordered him to remain in prison and adjourned until November 4 for a hearing.
