“She dedicated her energy to a good cause” – Peter Obi mourns Labour Party’s coordinator

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, has condoled with the family of Cecilia Anzaku, the party’s ‘door-to-door woman coordinator’.

Obi visited the family on Tuesday at their residence in Gidan Mangoro, Abuja.

He described the death of the community leader as unfortunate.

“This is because He is the one who gives life, and He is the one who takes. He has a reason for everything He does. He has a plan for everyone in this life.

“She is a great mobiliser and has dedicated her time and energy to a good cause. Let us pray that her soul rest in peace with the Lord,” Obi said.

In a post on X, Obi said he joined the faithful at St Joseph Mukasa Catholic Church, Gidan Mangoro, for the requiem mass of Anzaku.

He described her as a strong and dedicated community leader, a retired teacher, and a resilient mobiliser during the 2023 elections.

The former Anambra governor said she was fondly called “Mama Door-to-Door” for her tireless work in mobilising and inspiring others.

“I pray we truly achieve the New Nigeria she sacrificed so dearly to see become a reality. May her beautiful soul rest in peace, and may the values she stood for continue to live in the hearts of all she touched,” he wrote.

Anzaku will be buried on Friday in Akwanga, Nasarawa state.
