Shehu Sani Reacts to Alleged Bribery During Obasanjo’s Third-Term Bid

Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to Ex-President Obasanjo’s third-term tenure allegations.

He stated that only former Senate President Ken Nnamani can credibly confirm or deny whether lawmakers were bribed during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s controversial third-term bid.

Sani made the remarks on Monday in a post on X.

He noted that Nnamani, who presided over the Senate at the time, is the only living person with firsthand knowledge of the events.

“The only credible person alive who can confirm or deny that members of the National Assembly were bribed to amend the constitution for a third-term tenure extension for Obasanjo is none other than Senator Ken Nnamani, the then Senate President,” Sani said.

His comments come in the wake of Obasanjo’s recent denial of attempting to secure a third term in office.

Speaking last week at the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation Democracy Dialogue in Accra, Ghana, the former president insisted that no Nigerian can prove he sought a tenure extension.
