Former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has reacted to the number of COVID-19 deaths recorded in Nigeria.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) had announced on Wednesday night that 28 deaths have been recorded in the country.
According to the health agency, there are 873 confirmed cases of COVID19 reported in Nigeria and 197 persons have been discharged from various isolation centers.
Reacting to the number of deaths on his Twitter handle on Thursday, the former lawmaker claimed that the number of deaths recorded in the country is approximately the number of people that are killed weekly by bandits in Niger, Kaduna, Zamfara and Katsina in the North West of Nigeria.
He wrote: “So far 28 people have died in Nigeria from COVIDー19; that is approximately the number of people that are killed weekly by Bandits operating in the vast ungoverned spaces of Niger, Kaduna, Zamfara and Katsina in the North West of Nigeria.”
