The Vice President, Kashim Shettima on Monday paid a condolence visit to Aisha, the widow of the late former president, Muhammadu Buhari.
Shettima led some Nigerian delegates to visit Aisha and other members of the Buhari family in London.
The vice president visited Buhari’s family members on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.
He condoled with the family of the late former president, Stanley Nkwovha, a media aide to the vice president said.
In addition to visiting the former First Lady, Shettima also visited Malam Mamman Daura, Buhari’s nephew and very close political ally.
Daura is currently at a London hospital where he is receiving medical attention.
“The Vice President also visited the late President’s nephew, Malam Mamman Daura, who is recuperating in a London hospital.
“The condolence visits were conducted while the Vice President awaits the conclusion of procedures and documentation for the repatriation of former President Buhari’s body to Nigeria,” Nkwocha said.
He added that Shettima was accompanied to the condolence visits by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; and the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.
