Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu and several state governors, participated in the funeral prayers (Jana’iza) of the late Ibrahim Lamorde, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) this afternoon.
The sombre event took place at the National Mosque in Abuja, as mourners gathered to pay their final respects to Lamorde.
Governors from Borno, Adamawa, and Kwara states, among others were also at the event.
Additionally, several members of the National Assembly and public servants were in attendance to honour the memory of the late EFCC chairman.
Lamorde died on Sunday morning in Egypt, where he had gone for medical treatment.
A seasoned police officer, he was born on December 20, 1962, in Mubi, Adamawa State.
He joined the Nigerian Police Force in 1986 and rose through the ranks, serving in various capacities before his appointment as EFCC Chairman in 2011.
