A faction of the Labour Party loyal to Lamidi Apapa has asked former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi, to present his university certificate for public scrutiny.
Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, claimed he graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1984.
But spokesperson of the Apapa faction, Abayomi Arabambi, wondered why Obi only filled details of his secondary school on the form submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the buildup to the 2023 general election.
“Let me ask Obi who is accusing President Bola Tinubu of certificate fraud this question. Obi claimed he has a B.Sc. Did he present the B.Sc in his form? Was it not the school certificate he wrote there? Why is he hiding his own B.Sc? That is because he knew they could subpoena the vice chancellor or the registrar to come and confirm its authenticity,” Arabambi told Punch.
The Labour Party faction further said that Obi would not be given the party’s ticket in 2027.
