Her outstanding contribution to Future’s ‘Wait For U,’ a collaboration featuring Drake, propelled her to this remarkable victory.
The exciting news of the plaque’s arrival was shared by Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, who took to social media to announce the milestone on Friday night.
This notable achievement positions Tems as the first female Nigerian artist to clinch a Grammy award, marking a significant breakthrough in her career. Additionally, she stands as the first female Nigerian singer to have received a Grammy nomination.
Tems’ debut Grammy nomination happened last year in the esteemed Best Global Performance category for her chart-topping collaboration with Wizkid on the sensational track ‘Essence.’
Although she narrowly missed the award, losing to Pakistan’s Arooj Aftab, her nomination alone solidified her position as an international music sensation.
