Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has condemned the ‘sit-at-home’ exercise being enforced by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Ohanaeze, in a statement sent to POLITICS NIGERIA on Monday signed by its secretary-general, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, decried the losses the sit-at-home has caused several Igbos.
According to him, the entire south-east has lost almost N3.8 trillion since the exercise began. The statement read;
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide had denounced the disturbances in ongoing WACE examinations in the southeast especially in Imo state, where reports of disruptions are endangering the future of Igbo pupils due to the insensibility of IPOB disciples playing into the decoys and gimmicks of Igbo detractors.”
“it’s nonsensical for any right-thinking Igbo to hinder our Igbo youngsters from participating in the WACE examinations under any guise of self-determination, this madness had reached the zenith of stupidity and must decline, it’s on record that for sixth consecutive years in Nigeria, Igbo students are outstanding in WACE examination with spectacular results, and endeavors to stop the brilliant futures of these youngsters show that the proponents of this disgraceful obsession called agitations are uneducated, illiterate and enthusiastic enemies of Ndigbo.”
“We have reached the end of the road on sit at home across the southeast, Ndigbo had lost almost 3.8 trillion in all facets of economic and social activities due to this absurdity of IPOB’s ignorance, this must be terminated and cease instantly for our survival, we are in support of state governments to sack and reshuffle all Market leadership in southeast accelerating the course of IPOB’s Sit at home, as investigations divulged that Ipob fortresses are major markets in southeastern Nigeria if all markets are reopening, Sit at home will crumble instantly.”
“Southeast Governors have continued to defy the strength of the Igbo Town Union Administrators and other pro-Biafra agitators whose conducts are in line with Igbo’s interests, we must change the course of Ndigbo to defy further Sit At home directives as it is obliterating the economic potentials of Igbo and our attainments in commercial activities can not afford to be demolished by ignorant exponents of agitation.”
“The peaceful restoration of normalcy in the southeast lies in the fact that Southeast Governors must ensure that all southeast Market leadership, civil rights groups, nonviolent Pro Biafra groups, community-based youth groups, and traditional rulers must resolve to end this attrition of sit at home before Ipob ignorantly destroy southeast where the adherents have no idea of the consequences of their actions.”
The governor’s,& Ohaneze, should ask why the sit-at-home,& then make efforts to solve the problem. Even if you change d markets leadership,it will not solve d problem. Since the governor’s are not interested in making efforts to release Nnamdi Kanu, the masses may not listen to the government.
