Sokoto Election Appeals: Court Set to Decide Fate of Wamakko, Tambuwal Today

The Federal Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja is set to deliver its judgement on the election petitions against two former Governors of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wamakko and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on Saturday (today).

This information was confirmed in a press release issued by the court and made available to journalists by the Public Relations Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State, Hassan Sanyinlawal.

Both former Governors, who were declared winners of the 2023 senatorial elections in Sokoto North and Sokoto South senatorial district, respectively, had previously secured victory at the Election Petitions Tribunal in the state.

Wamakko, the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, had his victory challenged by the immediate past Deputy Governor of the state and PDP candidate, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya.

Meanwhile, Tambuwal, the PDP candidate for Sokoto South Senatorial District, faced a petition from the immediate past Senator, Ibrahim Danbaba Danbuwa.
