Nigerian Soldiers have reportedly arrested popular Nollywood Actor, Chinwetalu Agu in Upper Iweka area of Onitsha, Anambra state for putting on an outfit with colours of the Biafran Flag.
On Thursday afternoon, Agu’s vehicle was stopped by soldiers who wasted no time to bring him out of his bus.
A crowd started building up before warning shots were released in the air. In footage seen by POLITICS NIGERIA, Agu was dragged and manhandled by the Soldiers.
Last Month, Agu went viral on social media after wearing an outfit made of the Biafran Flag with many Nigerians stating on social media that ‘nothing must happen’ to the popular thespian.
The Biafran flag is the official emblem of South-East Separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, led by Nnamdi Kanu.
They have been pushing for the eastern part of Nigeria to become a separate country and their campaign has beed fraught with violent attacks and abductions in the region.The group has since been proscribed by the Nigerian Government.
Below are Photographs from the scene;
Why Mr President want to declare a state of emergency in anambra state why can’t Mr President declare state of emergency in borno kaduna state
Let them take it easy because that man is of age of being their Daddy
Then he should respect him self
Remember! They will kill us, we will kill them and in the end, Biafra will come. That’s the way it is.
When WAR go finally start you go know say this na child’s play…..
It’s better to arrest him because he is the celebrity in everywhere in Nigeria,so is significant number of disputes among the national association of Nigeria
…but senator Abaribe said it, about the number of separatist group in the region…. The igbos generally are not happy in the country.
Why are the soldiers manhandling the man for wearing a Biafra’s attire?? .. We must be frank with ourselves that this is Nigeria which is a free nation that anyone is doing whatever he or she likes which includes our “So Called” governments so the soldiers should take it easy with the man as he worth their fathers.
