South East Governor Begs Aggrieved PDP Members To Return To Party

The governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah has appealed to aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party who left the party to return.

The governor made the appeal while receiving members of the PDP National Reconciliation Committee led by former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola in Enugu.

He said it is important for party members in the Southeast region and the country at large to unite for the good of the PDP and Nigerians.

Mbah also called on the committee members, who visited over some issues within the party, to work towards ensuring lasting peace in the PDP.

He said,“The PDP is still largely the party with the spread that is required to win any election in this country and still appeals to the people of this country.

“I have no doubt in my mind that those of our brothers who are just waiting for moments like this will be brought back to where they belong, and we can forge a strong alliance going into the next general elections,” Mbah said.

In his address, the chairman of the committee said the crisis rocking the PDP is one of the key reason the party lost elections, especially the presidential poll in 2023.

Oyinilola urged party members and leaders to sheathe their swords and embrace peace and reconciliation process for better outcomes in the 2027 elections.

He also appealed to Nigerians to invest their trust in PDP to wrestle power from the ruling party and take Nigerian on the desired path to development and sustainability.
