JUST IN: APC Rejects Nyesom Wike’s Bid to Join Party, Citing Eight Years of Terror

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has opposed the inclusion of former governor Nyesom Wike in their ranks, alleging that he terrorized the party throughout his eight-year tenure.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in a statement issued by Darlington Nwauju, the party’s Publicity Secretary, it was made clear that Wike’s previous actions rendered him unwelcome within the APC.

Referring to him as an adversary, Nwauju stated, “The terror unleashed upon our party members during his maximum rulership of eight years alone serves as undeniable evidence that Wike has no place in Rivers State APC.”

He went on to express concern over Wike’s purported attempts to evade justice for the alleged misappropriation of Rivers State’s resources, which Nwauju claimed was the primary motivation behind his recent courtship of influential APC members.

“For those who may suffer from amnesia, it is imperative to note that a non-APC member cannot become an advocate for Wike’s induction into the party,” added Nwauju.

The full statement reads:

RE: RIVERS APC DID NOT CALL FOR WIKE’S ADMITTANCE INTO ITS FOLD

The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has been drawn to one nugatory and feckless Press Statement credited to one imposter that goes by the name Darlington Nwauju, wherein he attributed the position of Rivers State APC Spokesperson to himself and impulsively condemned the glorious call for Wike to come to Rivers APC.

Ordinarily, we would have ignored that spurious hogwash for what it is, but due to his bogus claim of speaking for Rivers APC, hence this riposte.

First, it should be noted that Darlington Nwauju does not have any moral justification to speak for Rivers State APC because himself and the people he represents have since abandoned the APC in Rivers State and openly endorsed and supported and voted for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar during the last Presidential election, against the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

To put the record straight, it is no longer news that Amaechi and those he holds in perpetual servitude have totally abandoned Rivers State APC since his spectacular and mortifying defeat at the APC Presidential primary election and had long thrown their support behind Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.
That preposterous abandonment of the party by the former leader of the Party in the state, Rotimi Amaechi for Atiku Abubakar, almost rendered the party moribund in the state, but for the timely and bravery intervention, take-over and rehabilitation of the carcass of Rivers APC by Hon. Chief Tony Okocha KSC JP DSSRS.

The contributions of the former Governor of Rivers State, Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike and the Leader of APC in Rivers, Chief Tony Okocha to the victory of President Bola Tinubu within and outside Rivers State cannot be overemphasized.

It is therefore only an enemy of APC that will be against the glorious and strategic call for Wike to join the party.
A party that had remained a mere social club since 2015 and unable to give any APC Presidential candidate 25% of votes in Rivers State, until the last presidential election that Wike came to our aid and made it possible for the presidential Candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to not only have 25%, but you to have outright victory in Rivers State.

What other evidence could be more glorifying than the excellent election results from Wike’s Unit, Ward, LGA and State that ensured outright veritable victory for Tinubu?

Can Nwauju and his lackey moths be brave enough to display their unit and ward results for the world to see?

Any true progressive member of APC in Rivers State would rejoice at the call for Nyesom Wike to come over to Rivers APC and reposition the party for victory in the coming elections.

We wish to remind Nwauju and his co-travellers once again that there is a subsisting Court Order had ousted his chairman, Emeka Bekee as the State Chairman of APC and equally recognized Hon. Omiete Eferebo as the Acting State Chairman of APC in Rivers State, and that the National Working Committee had since withdrawn all appeals concerning that matter.

If that be the case, one then begin to wonder which party secretariat and which APC Darlington Nwauju was referring to in his tripe.

Where was Nwauju and his consociates during the February 15 Presidential Rally in Rivers State?

Was it not Nwauju’s feudal Lord, Rotimi Amaechi that went on air to accuse the INEC Chairman that Tinubu ally facilitated his appointment into the office?

Didn’t Nwauju and his people openly voted massively for Atiku in Rivers State during the last presidential election?

What business does Nwauju and his co-travellers have with APC Rivers State and the call for Wike to come over?

When did they start being loyal to President Tinubu?

Is Tinubu no longer wearing pampers?
Is his hands and legs no longer shaking?
Can Tinubu run 400 meters race now?

We hereby call on the imposter named Darlington Nwauju and his fellow hypocritical confrères to henceforth desist from gatecrashing on the affairs of Rivers State APC, as they are no longer genuine members of the party.

During the previous presidential election, Wike openly campaigned for President Bola Tinubu, who is of the APC party. This public support raised speculation regarding Wike’s potential defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Since the inauguration of President Tinubu Ahmed Tinubu’s administration recently, there has been an increase in Wike’s affiliation with the APC, further fueling rumours of an imminent switch in party allegiance.
