Southeast governors should support IPOB’s ‘Ghost Monday’ – Simon Ekpa

Top Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa says governors in the southeast region of Nigeria should support the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB’s) planned lockdown.

POLITICS NIGERIA understands that IPOB wants to ensure that people of the South-East, Delta and Rivers States observed lockdowns every Monday.

The total lockdown every Monday, which is tagged: “Ghost Monday” by the outlawed group, has been scheduled to continue until the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, was released from custody.

“The SouthEast Governors should make U-turn now and support the civil disobedience of those who elected them. The sit-at-home order must be adhered to if Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not released. The case of Abba Kyari should’ve been an eye-opener to how America goes after criminals,” Ekpa wrote on his known Twitter handle on Wednesday.

IPOB is a Biafran separatist and Igbo nationalist organization in Nigeria. Its main aim is “to restore an independent state of Biafra in the South East of Nigeria through an independence referendum”.
