Stakeholders identify FG official helping President Tinubu cleanse corruption in NNPC

President Bola Tinubu has been commended for cleansing corruption in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

This was the position of the Forum of Civil Society Organisations at a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja.

Addressing journalists at the briefing, Comrade Friday Maduka, convener of the CSOs, stated that the president’s mandate has been carried out effectively by the NNPC boss, Mele Kyari.

The forum, however, decried attempts by some groups posing as civil society advocates to rubbish the attempt to reform the NNPC.

Comrade Maduka said:

”We are miff that people could descend to the lavatory and utter such unpardonable and grossly unsubstantiated arrant nonsense

”We call on His Excellency, our distinguished progressive president and emphatic personality of history, not to yield space to saboteurs and ten percenters to sabotage primal resourceful governmental factors who are navigating their public service boundaries in tandem with financial instructions and best governance practices.

”What a sorry day it shall be if and when people who are propositioning hardworking, genuinely motivated, and patriotic civil servants are allowed to go unchallenged and uncensored.

”After a detailed and scientific class analysis of the Nigerian political scenario, the amalgam of the civil society organisations took a principled stand and resolved to ask Mr President to confer greatly enhanced executive powers on Mallam Kyari in his ennobling endeavour of cleansing the NNPC augean stables and fixing all the hitherto seeming lingering intractable contradictions which afflicts NNPC governance.

”For the umpteenth time, we seriously warn that we are considering litigation in the law courts to rubbish disreputable so-called civil society groups who are giving the civil society community a bad name.

”We shall cut off the cancer and put the lie to the fantastic grossly unsubstantiated allegations and salad of lies against Mallam Mele Kyari, who has since, by words and deeds, taken his historic, well-deserved place in the pantheon of Nigeria’s seasoned greats and enviable administrators.”
