“Stop acting like a child” – Tinubu’s aide tells El-Rufai over ministerial snub

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has accused former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai of acting bitter over his exclusion from Tinubu’s ministerial cabinet.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Onanuga stated that El-Rufai feels hurt for being screened out by the Senate despite initially being nominated.

However, he urged the former governor to “move on” instead of acting as if “someone stole his bread.”

While acknowledging El-Rufai’s role in Tinubu’s election victory, Onanuga maintained that the president holds no grudges against him.

He also dismissed El-Rufai’s recent criticism of Tinubu and the APC, attributing it to his frustration over the ministerial snub.

“It’s time for him to let go. He has been in public service since 1999. He should stop behaving like a child and move on,” Onanuga added.
