“Stop using the north for political games” – Delta govt official blasts Kwankwaso

Chief Sunny Onuesoke, project director in the Delta state governor’s office for Ughelli North federal constituency, has faulted the claim by Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Kano governor, that President Bola Tinubu is marginalising the north.

Onuesoke, a prominent political analyst in Delta state, described Kwankwaso’s allegation as misleading and politically motivated.

His words: “It is unfortunate that some leaders use ethnic or regional sentiments to push personal political agendas.

“If you look critically at Tinubu’s key appointments and projects, the north has benefited significantly. From ministerial positions to key security and economic roles, northerners are strongly represented.”

Onuesoke said President Tinubu has demonstrated a national outlook in both appointments and development initiatives, and urged leaders to promote unity rather than stoke regional division.

“At a time when the country needs healing and cooperation across all zones, we must focus on performance and accountability instead of resorting to the narrative of marginalisation for political leverage,” he said.

He advised Tinubu to remain focused on governance and warned that yielding to regional pressure could derail efforts to reposition the country.
