Subsidy Removal: APC Members Equally Feeling Pains – Tinubu’s Ally Laments

The director, media and publicity of the defunct Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Onanuga was reacting to the outrage expressed by Nigerians over the hike in fuel price from N530 per litre to N617 for the same quantity.

In a tweet via his official handle, Onanuga admitted that everyone, including those in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is feeling the heat from the removal of fuel subsidy.

Ononuga appealled to Nigerians, especially those brutally criticizing President Tinubu, to stop and wait for the palliative that would help cushion the effect of the subsidy removal.

He also ruled out the possibility of returning the old fuel subsidy regime and described it as fraudulent.

His tweet reads in part: “In this season of high fuel price, I want to plead with our people to exercise some patience. We are all jointly experiencing the pain. All those intemperate attacks against the new government of President Bola Tinubu should stop.

“We cannot go back to the hyper fraudulent subsidy regime where we were spending more money on petrol than on roads, education and health.”
