Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has threatened to drag the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to court after he was allegedly barred from purchasing the nomination form to contest for the position of National Chairman.

Lamido, who arrived at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, on Monday morning, was reportedly denied access to the form — a move he described as “unacceptable and undemocratic.”

Speaking with journalists outside the party headquarters, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed disappointment, warning that he would seek legal redress if not allowed to participate in the upcoming National Convention scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“I came here to buy the form for the chairmanship position, but I was denied. This is not the democracy our party stands for.

“If this continues, I will have no choice but to approach the court for justice,”Lamido said.

Lamido had earlier announced his interest in the position via a post on his verified Facebook page, stating that he would visit the PDP secretariat to obtain the form.

His complaint adds to the growing tension within the PDP ahead of the national convention, where new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are expected to emerge.
