Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, is on the verge of signing a new contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that this new agreement will ensure that the Portuguese tactician remains at the helm of the Super Eagles until the end of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Peseiro’s current contract is set to expire at the end of this month, leading to speculation that the 63-year-old would not be offered an extension.
However, it is understood that both parties are on the verge of reaching a mutually beneficial agreement for a new contract.
The continuation of Peseiro’s tenure as coach of the three-time African champions will ultimately depend upon the team’s performance in Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
The experienced coach, who has previously managed national teams in Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, was initially contracted by the NFF in May last year.
