Super Eagles Get Boost Ahead of Cote d’Ivoire Encounter as Iheanacho, Moffi Impress in Training

Late arrivals Kelechi Iheanacho and Terem Moffi put up a good display for the Super Eagles in Monday night’s training session, dispelling doubts about their readiness for the crucial Africa Cup of Nations clash against Ivory Coast on Thursday.

The session, held at the Ecole Nationale de la Police in Abidjan, saw Iheanacho, initially a major doubt due to a muscle injury sustained while playing for Leicester City, looking sharp and eager to feature. The 27-year-old striker, along with vice-captain William Troost-Ekong and winger Moses Simon, addressed the team before training.

Moffi, who only joined the team at their Pullman Hotel base on Sunday, was equally impressive. The OGC Nice forward was called up as a late replacement for the injured Victor Boniface.

In further preparation for the Thursday clash, the Super Eagles will hold a closed-door training session today.
