Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has emerged as a sought-after talent by English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) and Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper’s stellar performances during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have garnered attention from European and Middle Eastern football clubs.
Nwabali, who currently plays for Chippa United in the South African league, played a crucial role in Nigeria’s journey to the AFCON final.
His standout performance came in the semi-final against South Africa, where he saved two penalties, earning him the Man of the Match award in a shootout victory.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the interest in Nwabali, stating that QPR and Al Ettifaq have made inquiries about the Nigerian goalkeeper.
Chippa United is expected to weigh potential offers for Nwabali in the coming months.
Nwabali’s football journey began with Nigerian clubs, including Go Round FC, Enyimba, Lobi Stars, and Katsina United. His standout performances at the national level earned him a debut for Nigeria in 2021.
