Tambuwal meets Mark, Danjuma over 2023 Presidency

The Governor of Sokoto State, HE Aminu Tambuwal, has met with the former Senate President, David Mark and former Minister of Defence, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd) over his presidential ambition.

Tambuwal, who is the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors’ Forum had earlier met behind closed doors with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo in Ota residence over 2023 Presidency.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Tambuwal on Thursday met with Mark in his Abuja residence to discuss his presidential aspiration with him and ask for his political guidance.

It was gathered that Tambuwal headed for Lagos where he held talks with Danjuma in his residence for over two hours. The Soko governor was said to have briefed the former minister on his decision to vie for the presidency in 2023 and to feel his pulse on his presidential bid.

After the meeting, governor Tambuwal left Lagos for Sokoto to continue consulting with other party chieftains and members ahead of the 2023 general election.

Governor Tambueal was Speaker of the House of Representatives for four years and currently the deputy chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) .
