“Tear down the walls of Jericho” – Rivers women launch monthly prayers for Governor Fubara

In a collective display of support and spirituality, thousands of women, under the banner of ‘Rivers Women Unite for Sim (RWUS),’ have initiated a monthly prayer intercession program for Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Rivers State.

Led by Mrs. Sotonye Fulton, the group organized the prayer outreach to seek God’s mercy for the state and pray for the success and peace of Governor Fubara’s administration.

The prayer program, held at the Ministry of Women Affairs auditorium in Port Harcourt, adopted the theme “Tear down the walls of Jericho with praise.”

The women engaged in praise and worship, enveloping the atmosphere with spiritual fervour.

Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Odu, who was present at the event, expressed gratitude to the women for initiating and sustaining the prayer sessions.

She emphasized the strength that comes from unity and encouraged the women to continue supporting the government as it strives to fulfill its promises to the people.

Prof. Odu assured her participation in the monthly prayer sessions, highlighting the importance of collective prayers.

The governor’s wife, Mrs. Valerie Fubara, also addressed the women, emphasizing the significance of prayer and supplication for the state.

Mrs Fubara expressed her happiness to be part of the prayer initiative and recalled the recent solidarity of Rivers women through a long walk in the state capital, Port Harcourt, in support of Governor Fubara.

In her plea to the women, Mrs. Fubara said, “Please, my dear women, don’t give up. This is our government.

“It is your prayers that changed every negative spoken word, and your continuous prayers will make Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration succeed.”
