Unidentified gunmen have launched a ruthless attack on Uburu and Okposi communities, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the incident, which unfolded on Thursday night, saw three cars engulfed in flames while an innocent passerby suffered an injury to the shoulder.
Confirming the distressing events, SP Onome Onovewakpoyeya, the Police Command Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi state, revealed in a phone interview that the assailants mercilessly wreaked havoc in both Uburu and Okposi Communities.
The Police PPRO revealed that as investigations into the incident begin, the police command is determined to bring the culprits to justice.
This newspaper learnt that an eyewitness, opting to remain anonymous, shared harrowing details of the incident, recounting that the chaos erupted around 10:00 PM.
He disclosed that two of the three torched vehicles met their demise in Rev. J Odii’s compound at Okposi Okwu, located in Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi state.
“The command is fully aware of the attack and is diligently pursuing the fleeing suspects. A Sienna car and two other vehicles were reduced to ashes. Meanwhile, the injured passerby, struck in the shoulder, is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital,” stated the Police PPRO.
