Several individuals hired to participate in a pro-government rally in Abuja have voiced their frustration after being left stranded without food, water, or payment.
The protestors, who were part of the “Say No To Protest” demonstration organized to counter the upcoming #EndBadGovernance protest, expressed their discontent in a viral video posted online.
According to the protesters, they were abandoned by the organizers after the rally.
“Tinubu said they should call us to give us support and that he doesn’t want protest. He said he would give us support.
“We are here very early in the morning, no food no water, the drivers were left stranded without being paid,” one demonstrator said.
“We are here, men, women, and children all abandoned. Nigeria has no president. We don’t have a leader,” one demonstrator said.
When asked if they would now join the nationwide protests scheduled to begin on August 1, the demonstrators confirmed they would participate. “Yes, we will join the protest,” they stated.
The pro-government rally at Eagles Square featured placards reading “Say No To Protest,” aiming to counter the planned nationwide protests criticizing the government’s handling of economic hardships.

We were deceived. We didn’t know we were coming to do a counter-protest. We were told that we were going to be given food items when we come to Abuja.
They left us without money, food, water, and transport fare –
