They’re Irrelevant – Adeyanju Tells Tinubu Not to Appoint Ex-govs

A Nigerian socio-political activist, Deji Adeyanju, has asked President Bola Tinubu not to give “juicy” government positions such as ministerial appointments to former governors

Adeyanju, who in a tweet on Saturday, July 8, noted that President Tinubu does not owe the former public servants anything, advised him to appoint only qualified technocrats as ministers.

Claiming that former governors are irrelevant to Tinubu’s ambition to renew Nigeria’s hope, the activist said:

“President Tinubu should not give any former governor ministerial appointment but appoint extremely competent technocrats.

“I know the pressure the president must be facing to appoint these formal governors so that he can secure a second term but these former governors are already irrelevant.

“Tinubu should begin to partner with current governors ahead of 2027. Nigeria is in a very bad place currently.”
