Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State to maintain silence over his recent defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Recall that El-Rufai defected from his former party APC and joined SDP alongside some of his associates.

The former governor said he left APC because its leadership has derailed from the initial ideology instilled by the founders of the party.

Since his defection, El-Rufai has taken to the media to explain some of the challenges he faced in APC, especially since Presisent Bola Tinubu assumed office.

However, in a post on his Facebook page, Igbokwe said while he understands the role El-Rufai played in championing the image of the APC during the last election, there is need for the former minister

In his defence, Igbolwe said El-Rufai drilled the deepest well for APC.

He wrote, “I want my good friend , HE El Rufai to stop all these not-too-good statements I see everyday. He is bigger than this.”

Igbokwe also cautioned El-Rufai’s sons on threading carefully on this issue.

“His sons should also maintain a grave silence at least for now.

“I am not unmindful of the risky efforts Malam made for APC to triumph in 2023. He drilled the deepest well for APC.

“However, this street dance is totally negative and consequently too low. I CALL HIM THE STORMY PETRELDazzol,” he wrote.
