President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Hajiya Salamatu Ladi Ahmed as the Executive Secretary of the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board (FGSHLB).
The announcement was made by Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, during the handover of the appointment letter to the new Executive Secretary on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Hajiya Ahmed, who previously served as the Board’s Director of Operations, succeeds Alhaji Ibrahim Mairiga. Mairiga is set to proceed on terminal leave ahead of the expiration of his four-year tenure in September 2024.
In her remarks, Dr. Yemi-Esan congratulated the newly appointed Executive Secretary and urged her to utilize her extensive experience to ensure the Board’s core mandate is fully realized.
She also emphasized the importance of effective leadership in enhancing the Board’s operations and achieving its goals.
Hajiya Ahmed’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to bolster the FGSHLB’s efforts in providing housing loans to federal government staff, thereby improving their welfare and living conditions.
