
President Bola Tinubu on Friday congratulated former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau.
Sambo will be officially turbaned by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, on Saturday, October 11.
The president described the new traditional title bestowed by Sambo as a position of great cultural and historical significance in Northern Nigeria which also reflects the Emirate’s confidence in the former Vice President’s wisdom, integrity, and commitment to the nation’s development.
He also stated that the honour bestowed on Sambo through this new title is a reflection of his leadership traits and immense contributions to nation-building.
In a statement issued on Friday, Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to the president on information and strategy said Sambo’s investiture as Sardaunan Zazzau underscores his deep-rooted service to his immediate community and the nation.
The president further appreciated the Emir of Zazzau for upholding the noble tradition of honouring individuals with impeccable character, great leadership capacity, and patriotism.
Onanuga said, “While wishing the former Vice President success in his new traditional role, President Tinubu urges him to continue inspiring and guiding the younger generation, and to work closely with traditional and community leaders to advance peace and development in the country.”
