The Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled the official theme for Nigeria’s 2025 Independence Anniversary.
The celebration, tagged “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” was announced in a statement on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
According to the statement, the theme underscores the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotism across the public and private sectors, civil society, and the citizenry in building a nation anchored on sustainable peace, prosperity, and progress.
“Since gaining independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria has successfully weathered challenges and recorded significant achievements in different economic sectors.
“Consolidating these gains requires collective effort to reach greater heights and build a strong nation for all citizens,” the statement read in part.
It further noted that all government activities and programmes for the anniversary will align with the theme to reinforce the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
As part of the celebration, a Juma’at Prayer is scheduled for Friday, 26 September, at 1 p.m., an Inter-Denominational Church Service will hold on Sunday, 28 September, at 10 a.m., and a World Press Conference will take place on Monday, 29 September, at 10 a.m.
