President Bola Tinubu on Friday paid a courtesy visit to Aisha Buhari, the widow of former President Muhammadu Buhari, during his trip to Kaduna State.
Tinubu was accompanied by several governors and senior leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the visit.
During the meeting, the President pledged to uphold and honour the legacy of honesty, integrity, and exemplary character left behind by the late former President.
He told Mrs Buhari that, although her husband is no longer physically present, his spirit continues to inspire greatness.
Tinubu emphasised that the purpose of the visit was to assure the Buhari family that they are not alone in their grief. He said:
“We thank you and your family for the fitting tribute paid to late Muhammadu Buhari. We are here to share in your grief and pain.
“The loss of flesh is not the loss of spirit. The spirit he left behind of hard work, dedication, patriotism, and honesty will guide us. We assure you and the entire family that we will continue his legacy and preserve the spirit he instilled.”
He also prayed for the eternal rest of former President Buhari and for the unity of Nigeria.
