
On Wednesday, March 12, lawmakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock in Abuja.
The lawmakers, including the reinstated Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, his the deputy speaker, Mojisola Meranda and other members of the Assembly were at the Villa to address issues surrounding the crisis rocking the Lagos House.
Sources, however, said that the lawmakers who visited the Villa at the instance of the President went on a chartered flight.
It was gathered that the President had arranged the flight to convey all the members of the Lagos State House of Assembly to Abuja as a last resort to addressing the challenges facing the House.
According to Sahara Reporters, the sources said the president’s intervention is aimed at brokering peace between aggrieved members of the House following the reinstatement of Speaker Obasa.
The source said, “Asiwaju (President Tinubu) has invited the Honourable members to Abuja today (Wednesday) and even made available a chartered plane to convey them.”
Many, especially the Lagos lawmakers, are hoping that the summon by the president would bring a lasting solution to the crisis rocking the state’s Assembly.
Another source said, “Let’s hope the President will redeem himself with this latest invitation of the members and not further intimidate them.”
