Tinubu Runs Nigeria Like a Family Empire, Worse Than Military Rule – Gov Adeleke’s Aide

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Bureau of Social Services, Mr. Akintunde Bello Sheriff, has accused President Bola Tinubu of turning Nigeria into a personal estate.

Sheriff, in a Facebook post on Monday, alleged that the current administration has gone beyond the excesses of past military rulers. He claimed that Tinubu has contradicted the democratic values he once preached.

“Bola Tinubu is a pretentious moralist and pseudo democrat. Everything he accused Obasanjo of, he has demonstrated to be worse off,” Sheriff wrote.

He pointed at alleged interference in Lagos and Osun states, accusing the president of backing illegal structures despite court judgments. According to him, “The Supreme Court dissolved LCDAs yet elections were conducted into LCDAs at his backyard in Lagos… Come down to Osun State, the same Tinubu has allegedly authorised payment of public funds into private pockets of his party members who have since been sacked from the courts.”

Sheriff also criticised Seyi Tinubu’s growing involvement in state matters. He said, “Non really abdicated state powers to their Sons. Seyi Tinubu follows his Father everywhere almost on all official missions and you will wonder if we are running family governance in the Country.”

The governor’s aide further claimed that democratic institutions have been weakened under Tinubu’s leadership, saying, “Unarguably; Tinubu has taken democratic gains in Nigeria downwardly. The military was nicer sadly.”

However, this is not the first time Governor Adeleke’s camp has clashed with the presidency. In August, the Osun governor accused the Tinubu administration of frustrating his government by blocking local government funds.
