Tinubu sacks Ahmed Kuru, appoints Gbenga Alade as new AMCON CEO

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sacked Ahmed Lawan Kuru from his role as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

This was announced via a statement on Thursday, signed by Presidential media aide, Ajuri Ngelale.

According to the statement, Gbenga Alade has been appointed as the new CEO of AMCON.

In addition to Alade’s appointment, the President also appointed three new directors Aminu Ismail, Adeshola Lamidi, and Lucky Adaghe.

“The President expects unflagging dedication, professionalism, and dutifulness from the new appointees so as to ensure that the operations of AMCON are more efficient, transparent, and in consonance with his determination to sanitize the nation’s financial system to maximize value and enhance investor confidence in the Nigerian economy,”, the statement read in Part.
