“Tinubu takes us for granted” – APC leader blasts president over Bwala’s appointment

Jesutega Onokpasa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed strong disapproval of President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Daniel Bwala as special adviser on policy communication.

Bwala, a former spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 presidential campaign, was previously known for his vocal criticism of Tinubu.

Among his allegations were calls for Tinubu’s prosecution over alleged corruption and claims involving drug-related proceeds forfeited in the United States.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV’s News Night, Onokpasa described the appointment as a “betrayal” to Tinubu’s loyal supporters.

“Our dear and beloved President stabbed all of us, his staunch supporters, in the back with this absolutely ridiculous, meaningless, and just inexplicable appointment,” Onokpasa stated.

He dismissed claims that the appointment was a strategic move, branding it “stupidity” instead.

Onokpasa also expressed frustration over what he perceived as the president’s disregard for his supporters, stating, “Not all his supporters want an appointment. It’s just the insult that our president seems to take us (his supporters) for granted.”
