Tinubu vows to provide more resources, modern equipment for police

President Bola Tinubu has assured that his administration is dedicated to providing more modern equipment and resources to the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the president, improving the force with modern equipment will enable it to discharge its responsibilities more effectively.

“We are also embarking on a massive recruitment drive into the Police Force aimed at empowering our youth to participate in national security efforts,” Tinubu said.

The president while speaking at the graduation ceremony of 478 students of Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State urged graduates to adhere strictly to the ethics of modern policing in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Tinubu who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasised the importance of shunning corruption and upholding the highest level of professionalism.

He expressed confidence that the officers had received enough training, both academically and professionally, to make a positive impact on the country’s security architecture.

Tinubu assured that the Federal Government would continue to support the academy, which he described as one of the best training grounds for police officers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
