Tinubu’s govt contracts all luxury bus operators for 50% transport fare reduction scheme

The Federal Government has contracted all luxury bus operators to participate in the ongoing 50% transport fare reduction initiative.

The move is designed to make travel more affordable and accessible for Nigerians nationwide.

Contrary to the initial list of five transport companies specified for the program, the Association of Luxury Bus Owners of Nigeria (ALBON) has confirmed the engagement of all its members in this fare reduction initiative.

The announcement was made through a joint statement signed by Mr. Nonso Ubajaka, President of ALBON, and Mr. Frank Nneji, Honourary Secretary.

The comprehensive list of participating luxury bus operators includes renowned entities such as Young Shall Grow Nig Ltd, Chisco Transport Ltd, Izuchukwu Transport Nig. Ltd, ABC Transport Plc, GUO Transport Ltd, and others, totalling many operators contributing to the fare reduction program.

As part of this initiative, ALBON committed to providing 11,118 daily seats for the scheme’s duration.

Prospective travellers seeking to benefit from the reduced fares are encouraged to approach the various bus stations at which these participating companies operate nationwide.

“All intending passengers on the above listed are requested to go to our members’ various bus stations nationwide to book and board our buses on payment of only 50 % (half the price) of the prevailing or current bus fare during the period on the principle of ‘First Come, First Served Basis’ on the daily basis during the period,” the statement emphasised.
