Omo-Agege heads to Supreme Court after Appeal Court judgment on Delta guber election

Former deputy Senate president and APC governorship candidate in Delta State, Ovie Omo-Agege, has declared his intention to appeal to the Supreme Court following the recent Appeal Court ruling, which he described as “redemption deferred for Deltans.”

In a statement released through his media adviser, Sunny Areh, Omo-Agege expressed deep respect for the judiciary but stated his conviction that the justices misinterpreted the evolving electoral jurisprudence aimed at deepening democracy in Nigeria.

Asserting that justice remains unfulfilled for the people of Delta State who supported him, Omo-Agege emphasized his commitment to defending their trust by pursuing the case at the Supreme Court.

He expressed confidence in the higher court’s ability to review overlooked aspects and deliver justice thoroughly.

“We will proceed to the Supreme Court. The issues at stake touch on the future and well-being of the people who voted for a New Delta. We have a duty to respect them by defending their faith in us with every sense of diligence and responsibility. We don’t waver on what is right.

“I am confident that the revered Justices of the Supreme Court will examine the areas overlooked at the Appeal Court and give justice to our people,” he said.

Omo-Agege urged his supporters to maintain calm and adhere to the law, assuring them of his confidence in the judiciary’s ability to bring about the awaited redemption at the final hurdle.
